This can be avoided using the following procedure:
1. Install the servo output levers for the flap and
aileron servos at right-angles to the pushrods.
2. Determine the centre of the working range of
the control surface:
For example: the working range of the control
surface (e.g. camber-changing flap) is from
+20° ... -60°, starting from the neutral position
(flap in line with airfoil)
The centre of the flap’s working range is
therefore -20°.
Now adjust the flap pushrod so that the flap is
at the -20° point when the servo is at centre.
Tip:
First select the servo in the menu
Servo.Ca-
librate
, then select the percentage value for
the point
P3, and finally press the allocate
button for the 3-D digi-adjuster; the servo now
runs to its exact centre position.
3. Both servos
FLAP+ and AILERON+ should now
be calibrated at points
P1, P3 and P5 (also
points
P2 and P4 if necessary), so that both
pairs of control surfaces are at exactly the same
deflection at all points (in our example at +20° /
-20° / -60°.
4. Now adjust the parameter
offs for the mixer
input
Spoiler in the mixers FLAP+ and
AILERON+ in such a way that the control sur-
faces line up correctly.
The following diagram clearly shows the principle
of this set-up:

Elevator trim correction for Spoiler
(airbrakes):

half-deployed spoilers
pt2 = Elevator compensation for
fully deployed spoilers

Elevator trim correction for Flap
(Flaperon):

(e.g.) thermal setting
trv# = Elevator compensation for
(e.g.) speed setting

AILERON+ Aileron
Setting for maximum aileron travel
when the Aileron transmitter con-
trol is operated:
trv = Symmetrical deflections
( equal aileron travels
up and down)
Aileron differential is set and ad-
justed in the mixer Ail.Diff.
Spoiler
When the Spoiler control is
operated, both ailerons move in the
same direction (e.g. up) to act as
landing aid:
offs = Offset value
trv = Aileron deflection at full
Spoiler travel
Flap
When the transmitter control Flap is
moved, both ailerons move up or
down together to alter the camber of
the wing section in order to opti-
mise the wing for thermal and speed
flying:
trv' = Aileron deflection, e.g. up
for speed flying
trv# = Aileron deflection, e.g.
down for thermal flying
Ele -Tr
When the elevator stick is operated,
both ailerons deflect up or down in
order to amplify the elevator effect
for aerobatics (“snap-flap mixer”):
trv' = Aileron deflection when
down-elevator is applied
trv# = Aileron deflection when
up-elevator is applied
This mixer can be switched off and
on at any time using the Snap-Flap
switch
