7. MEMORY NAME MENU
Any of the twenty available memory places can be selected in
the "MEMORY NAME" display. In this menu it is also possible to
program all the parameters for the active memory.
Use the "+" and "-" buttons to select the line you wish to program.
Once you have marked the appropriate line with the arrow, you
have to activate the parameter by pressing the "START / ENT."
button (dark background). The value to be changed can then be
altered using the "+" and "-" buttons. When the value has been
changed, press the "START / ENT." button to save the value.
When the line for entering the battery type is active, you can use
the "+" and "-" buttons to select one of the following battery types:
Nickel-Cadmium bat-
tery (NiCd), Nickel-
Metal-Hydride batte-
ry (NiMH), Lithium-
Polymer battery
(LiPo), Lead-Acid
battery (Pb), Lithium-
Ferrophosphate bat-
tery (LiFe), Lithium-
Ion battery (LiIo).
Pressing the
"START / ENT." but-
ton again activates
the line for entering
the number of cells.
Use the "+" and "-"
buttons to set the
battery voltage / cell count.
In the line for entering the capacity you can press the "+" and "-"
buttonstoadjustthebatterycapacityin100mAhincrements.
•NC / NiMH max. 60 Ah
•Lithium max. 60 Ah
•Lead-acid/Pb max. 60 Ah
When the "Charge current" line is active, the charge current can
be defined within the range 0.1 A to 20 A in 100 mA increments.
Be sure to observe the battery manufacturer's specification.
In the "Discharge current" line the discharge current can be
entered in the same way, within the range 0.1 A to 10 A, again in
increments of 100 mA.
The final discharge voltage (Discharge volt.) per cell can be
adjustedbypressingthe"+"and"-"buttonsinincrementsof0.1
V,accordingtothebatterytype.
•Nickel-Cadmiumbattery(NiCd): 0.1-1.1V/cell
•Nickel-Metal-Hydridebattery(NiMH): 0.1-1.1V/cell
•Lithium-Polymerbattery(LiPo): 3.0-3.3V/cell
•Lithium-Ferrophosphatebattery(LiFe): 2.6-2.9V/cell
•Lithium-Ionbattery(LiIo): 2.9-3.2V/cell
•Lead-Acidbattery(Pb): 1.8-2.0V/cell
Factory settings are guide values only.
Thefunction"TVCvoltage"(TerminalVoltageControl)isusedto
alter the final charge voltage for Lithium batteries. The value is
entered as a voltage per cell.
Theadjustmentrangeextendsfrom3.58-4.25Volt/cell,depen-
ding on battery type. This value is stored permanently in the
"Memory name" menu. If a BID chip or key is connected, these data
are only stored temporarily.
Important note:
SettingthecorrectvalueforTVCvoltageistheresponsibilityofthe
user, and is excluded from the guarantee.
Ifthe"TRICKLE CURRENT"lineis activated, youcan adjust the
trickle charge current for NiCd and NiMH batteries in increments
of 1 mA. For these battery types the range lies between OFF and
50 - 300 mA.
The Delta-Peak cut-off sensitivity (Peak sens.) can be set for NiCd
and NiMH batteries.
•Nickel-Cadmiumbattery(NiCd): 3-15mV/cell
•Nickel-Metal-Hydridebattery(NiMH): 3-15mV/cell
