handrail

>
Assemble the handrails into the step section and secure them with the four 3/8” x
2“ stainless steel bolts supplied (washers & nuts on the outside);
>
Place the ladder on the dock and determine the location of the 4 bolts among the
6 holes available at the base of the handrails in order to have a good grip on the
decking boards. Note that the distance between the centers of the holes from one
base to the other is 17.25" (438 mm);
>
To install on an existing dock, you may need to unscrew one or two boards on the
top of the dock to gain access to the underside of the decking;
>
Screw the reinforcements under the dock;
>
Re-position the ladder at the determined location, mark the holes, remove the
ladder and drill 7/16" holes with a cordless drill.
>
We suggest installing the mounting bolts head down (see sketch) so that the ladder
can be easily removed for the winter. Use the four 3/8" x 4-1/2" bolts with 1 flat
washer, 2 nuts and 2 lock washers.
Only 1 nut to remove
for winterizing
Ideally, iIn order to strengthen the installation of your ladder, it is recommended to
add reinforcements under the decking to distribute the load on several boards.
You will need :
>
two ± 51 cm (20 in.) board lengths
>
required wood screws (the lengt will depend on the thickness of the reinforcements
and decking boards)
If your dock has a rail on its top edge, you may choose to purchase Multinautic
