sending it toward the RG over the Ethernet port. The DHCP request may also be
assigned a VLAN different from the VLAN of the user traffic, if provisioned.
To use DHCP Option 82, you will have to enable it on the TU or BU, on the Ethernet port
assigned to the subscriber (eth1 , 2 or 3) and then configure the parameters that the
DHCP server on the network expects.
Note that the configuration of DHCP Option 82 is not supported in the GUI – and must
be done via CLI.
One can check the CLI syntax by entering set dhcp-relay to get a breakout of
command syntax:
MH-T200 >set dhcp-relay
set dhcp-relay <eth> [admin <value>] [vlan <value>] [circuit-id-
config <value>] [remote-id-config <value>] [subscriber-id-config
<value>]
eth : eth1 | eth2 | eth3
When in doubt about the values allowed for a given parameter in the middle of a
command, use ? and CLI will show you the values for that parameter.
Example command for setting circuit id on Ethernet port#1:
set dhcp-relay eth1 admin up vlan none circuit-id-config ascii
SAMPLEID
To view the settings and status:
MH-T200> show dhcp-relay
dhcp-relay eth1 admin : up
dhcp-relay eth1 vlan : none
dhcp-relay eth1 circuit-id-config : ascii SAMPLEID
dhcp-relay eth1 circuit-id-actual : SAMPLEID
dhcp-relay eth1 remote-id-config : empty
dhcp-relay eth1 remote-id-actual :
dhcp-relay eth1 subscriber-id-config : empty
dhcp-relay eth1 subscriber-id-actual :
