Hardware Installation
Hardware Installation: Introduction
To install the ISIHI-2S/2U server card into the ISA bus on your personal
computer, you must:
 Open your PC
 Set card configuration (determining I/O address DIP-switch setting and
IRQ jumper setting)
 Install the card mechanically into the PC
Computer Requirements
 386, 486, Pentium-based PC or compatible with ISA bus architecture
 Microsoft Windows 95, Windows NT version 4.0, SCO Open Server
version 5.0, Novell NetWare, or Linux
 At least one floppy drive
 800 blocks of hard disk space for UNIX, 100K bytes for Windows NT,
34K bytes for Windows 95, 50K bytes for Novell

Safety Warnings
 Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
 Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jacks are
specifically designed for wet locations.
 Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the
telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface.
 Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
 Avoid using a telephone (other than cordless type) during an electrical
storm. There may be a remote risk of electrical shock from lightning.
 Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of that leak.
 Ports that are connected to other apparatus are defined as SELV.
To ensure conformity to EN 41003, ensure that these ports are
connected only to the same type on the other apparatus.
