4.3 Putting the engine into operation after scheduled out-of-
service-period
Preconditions
☑ Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
Putting into operation
Item Action
Lube oil system Check engine oil level (→ Page 155);
, preheat engine oil, if required.
Coolant circuit Check coolant level (→ Page 164).
Coolant circuit Heat engine coolant with coolant preheating unit.
Fuel prefilter Drain water (→ Page 139);
Check if suction-side pressure indicated at the fuel prefilter is within the
limit (→ Page 142).
Engine control system Switch master switch to ON;
Press illuminated pushbutton READY FOR OPERATION (→ Page 85).
LOP Press illuminated pushbutton LAMP TEST (→ Page 85).
