b) Verify that the specimen:
• Is properly positioned in the v groove. (The seam of the rebar should be in the crotch of the v
groove.)
• Has good contact across the entire face of the grip.
• Is not bottomed out in (end of specimen touching) the grip.
c) Move the lower grip control to its center position to ready it for the test.
