CALIFORNIA EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
TheCaliforniaAir ResourcesBoardandMTDConsumerGroupInc are pleasedto explaintheevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyour 2007lawn
mower.InCalifornia,new lawnmowermust be designed,builtand equippedto meet theState'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupInc must
warrantthe EECSon yourlawn mowerfor the periodof time listedbelowprovidedthere hasbeenno abuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof your lawnmower.
YourEECSmayincludepartssuch as thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,
canisters,filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Where a warrantable condition exists, MTDConsumer Group Inc will repair your lawn mower at no cost to you includingdiagnosis, parts and labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfor two years.If any evaporativeemission-relatedpart on yourequipmentis defective,the partwill be
repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe lawn mowerowner,youare responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenancelistedin yourowner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroupIncrecom-
mendsthat youretainall receiptscoveringmaintenanceonyour lawnmower,but MTDConsumerGroup Inccannotdenywarrantysolelyforthe lack of receipts.
Asthe lawn mowerowner,youshouldhoweverbeawarethat MTDConsumerGroupInc maydeny youwarrantycoverageif yourlawnmoweror a part hasfailed
dueto abuse,neglect,orimpropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyourlawn mowerto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenteras soonas the problemexists.The
warrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountof time, notto exceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,youshould
contactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncService Departmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantstothe ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat the lawnmoweris:Designed,built andequippedso as to
conformwithall applicableregulations;andfree from defectsin materialsand workmanshipthat causethe failureof a warrantedpartto beidenticalin allmaterial
respectstothat partas describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedate the lawnmoweris deliveredto an ultimatepurchaseror firstplaced intoservice.The warrantyperiodistwo years.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsas statedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedpartsis as follows:
1. Anywarrantedpart that isnotscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenanceinthe writteninstructionssupplied,is warrantedfor thewarranty period
statedabove.Ifthe partfails duringthe periodof warrantycoverage,the partwillbe repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc accordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbe warrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Anywarrantedpart that isscheduledonly for regularinspectioninthe writteninstructionssupplied is warrantedfor thewarranty periodstatedabove.Any such
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpart that isscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssuppliediswarrantedforthe periodof time beforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If the partfails beforethe first scheduledreplacement,the partwillbe repairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupInc accordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuch part repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedforthe remainderof the periodpriorto the
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacementofanywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedat a warrantystationat no chargeto theowner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesorrepairswill beprovidedatall ofour distributioncentersthat arefranchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Thelawnmowerowner willnot bechargedfor diagnosticlaborthat is directlyassociatedwithdiagnosisofa defective,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,
providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc is liablefor damagesto otherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failure underwarrantyofany warranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmowerwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintaina supplyof warrantedparts sufficientto meetthe expected
demandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpart maybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceorrepairsand mustbe providedwithoutchargeto the owner.Suchusewill
notreducethe warrantyobligationsof MTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are notexemptedbythe Air ResourcesBoardmaynot beused.The useof any non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedparts bythe
ultimatepurchaserwillbegroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbe liabletowarrantfailuresof warrantedparts caused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepairor replacementof any warrantedpartotherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfromsuchwarrantycoverageifMTDConsumerGroup
Inc demonstratesthat the lawnmowerhasbeen abused,neglected,or improperlymaintained,andthat suchabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenancewasthe
directcauseof the needfor repairor replacementofthe part.Thatnotwithstanding,anyadjustmentof a componentthathasa factory installed,and properly
operating,adjustmentlimitingdeviceis still eligiblefor warrantycoverage.Thefollowingemissionwarrantypartslist arecovered: FuelLine,Fuel LineClamps
