YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
MTDConsumerGroupInc,the UnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency (EPA),and, forthoseproductscertifiedfor sale in the stateofCalifornia,the
CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoard(CARB)are pleasedto explainthe emission(evaporativeand/orexhaust)controlsystem(ECS) warrantyon youroutdoor2006
andlater smalloff-roadspark-ignitedengineandequipment(outdoorequipmentengine)In California,new outdoorequipmentenginesmustbedesigned,built and
equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards(in otherstates, 1997andlater modelyear equipmentmustbedesigned,built,and equippedto meet
theU.S. EPAsmalloff-road, sparkignitionengineregulations.MTDConsumerGroupInc mustwarrantthe ECSon your outdoorequipmentenginefor the periodof
timelistedbelowprovidedtherehasbeen noabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof outdoorequipmentengine.
YourECSmayincludeparts suchas thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,canisters,
filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,andotherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Wherea warrantableconditionexists, MTDConsumerGroupIncwill repairyouroutdoorequipmentengineat nocost toyouincludingdiagnosis,parts and labor.
MAN UFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrolsystemis warrantedfor two years. If any emission-relatedparton your outdoorequipmentengineisdefective,the part will be repairedor
replacedby MTDCONSUMERGROUPINC.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youare responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenancelisted inyour owner'smanual.MTDConsumerGroup
Inc recommendsthat youretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyouroutdoorequipmentengine,butMTDConsumerGroupInccannotdeny warrantysolely
forthe lackof receipts.
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youshouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroupInc maydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyour outdoorequipment
engineor a part has faileddue to abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyouroutdoorequipmentengineto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenterorservicecenteras soon asthe problem
exists.Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountof time, notto exceed30 days.If you havea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,
youshouldcontactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncService Departmentat 1-800-800-7310orvia emailathttp://support.mtdproducts.com
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat theoutdoorequipmentengineis: Designed,built and equipped
so asto conformwithall applicableregulations;and freefromdefectsin materialsand workmanshipthatcausethe failureofa warrantedpart to be identicalin all
materialrespectstothat part as describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedatetheoutdoorequipmentengineis deliveredto anultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwo
years.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsasstatedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedparts is asfollows:
1. Any warrantedpartthat is notscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssupplied,is warrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe part fails duringthe periodofwarrantycoverage,thepart will berepairedor replacedbyMTDConsumerGroupIncaccordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Any warrantedpartthat is scheduledonly for regularinspectionin the writteninstructionssupplied is warrantedforthe warrantyperiodstatedabove.Any such
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedforthe remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Any warrantedpartthat is scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssuppliediswarrantedfor the periodof timebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If the partfails beforethefirst scheduledreplacement,the part will be repairedorreplacedby MTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuch partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedfor the remainderofthe periodpriorto the
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor thepart.
4. Repairor replacementof anywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedat a warrantystationat no chargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill beprovidedat allof our distributioncentersthatare franchisedtoservicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. The outdoorequipmentengineownerwill notbe chargedfor diagnosticlaborthat is directlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwar-
rantedpart, providedthat suchdiagnosticwork is performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc is liablefor damagestootherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failure underwarrantyof any warranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe off-roadengineand equipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintaina supplyof warrantedparts sufficientto
meetthe expecteddemandfor suchparts.
9. Any replacementpart maybe usedinthe performanceof any warrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbeprovidedwithoutchargeto the owner.Suchusewill
notreducethe warrantyobligationsof MTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are notexemptedbythe Air ResourcesBoardmaynot beused.The useof any non-exemptedadd-on or modifiedpartsby the
ultimatepurchaserwill begroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbeliable to warrantfailuresof warrantedparts caused
bythe use of a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
