Mulching (If Equipped)
Selectmodelscomeequippedwitha mulchkitwhich
incorporatesspecialblades,alreadystandardonthe
tractor,ina processof recirculatinggrassclippings
repeatedlybeneaththe cuttingdeck.Theultra-fine
clippingsarethen forcedbackintothe lawnwherethey
actas a naturalfertilizer.
Observethe followingpointsfor the bestresultswhen
mulching:
Neverattemptto mulchif the lawnis damp.Wetgrass
tendsto stickto theundersideof the cuttingdeck
preventingpropermulchingof the clippings.
Do NOTattemptto mulchmorethan 1/3the total
heightof the grassor approximately1-1/2inches.
Doingso willcausetheclippingsto clumpup beneath
thedeckand notbe mulchedeffectively.
Maintaina slowgroundspeedto allowthe grass
clippingsmoretimeto effectivelybemulched.
Alwayspositionthethrottlecontrolleverinthe FAST
(rabbit)positionandallowit to remaintherewhile
mowing.Failingto keepthe engineat full throttle
placesstrainon the tractor'sengineand doesnot
allowthe bladesto properlymulchgrass.

NOTE:It is not necessaryto removethe dischargechute
to operatethe mowerwiththe mulchkit installed.
Tooperatethecuttingdeckwithoutmulching,simply
removethe mulchplugbyunthreadingthe plasticwing
nutwhichfastensit to the cuttingdeck.Thiswill allowthe
clippingsto dischargeout the side.See Figure13.
Headlights
Onsomemodels,thelampsareON wheneverthe
tractor'sengineisrunning.Onothermodels,the
lampsareON wheneverthe ignitionkeyis movedout
of the STOPposition.
Onall models,the lampsturn OFFwhenthe ignition
keyismovedto the STOPposition.
