SECTION3: ASSEMBLING YOURLAWNMOWER IMPORTANT: This unit is shipped without gasoline or oil in the engine. Be certain to service engine with gasoline and oil as instructed in the separate engine manual before operating your mower. NOTE: Reference to right or left hand side of the mower is observed from the operating position. RemovingUnitFromCarton Remove staples, break glue on top flaps, or cut tape at carton end and peel along top flap to open carton. Remove loose parts if included with unit (i.e.
Attaching Starter Rope The rope guide is attached to the right side of upper handle. Loosen the wing nut which secures the rope guide. See Figure 5. Secure bag to the frame by working the six plastic channels on bag over frame. All the plastic channels attach from the outside of bag. See Figure 6.

F 1. 2. 3. 4. TowardsBetterMowerPerformance Pour fresh, clean gasoline into the mower's gas tank until the tank is full. Do not use gasoline that is more than 30 days old. Make sure to connect the mower's spark plug wire before trying to start the engine. Add engine oil to the oil fill on the mower engine. Check the dipstick and add more if necessary. Remember that the oil level has to touch the fill line. Locate the primer decal near the primer bulb on the engine, and read its instruction.

To lower the height proceed as follows: Remove the starter rope from the rope guide, Remove the upper handle by removing the hand knobs and carriage bolts. Lay the upper handle out of the way, being careful not to bend or kink the cables.
