Drive Control
Whenthe drivecontrolisreleasedand inthe disengaged
"up" position,thecable shouldhaveverylittle slack.It
shouldNOTbetight.
Checkthe adjustmentof thedrivecontrolas follows:
1. Withthe drivecontrolreleased,pushthe snowthrower
gentlyforward.The unitshouldrollfreely.
2. Engagethe drivecontrolandgentlyattemptto push
the snowthrowerforward.The wheelsshouldnotturn.
The unit shouldnot rollfreely.
3. Withthe drivecontrolreleased,movethe shiftlever
backandforthbetweenthe R2 positionandthe F6
positionseveraltimes.Thereshouldbeno resistance
inthe shift lever.
4. Ifany of the abovetestsfailed,the drivecableis in
needof adjustment.Proceedas follows:
5. Loosenthe lowerhex nut onthe drivecablebracket.

6. Positionthe bracketupwardto providemoreslack(or
downwardto increasecabletension).

7. Retightenthe lowerhexnut.
Chute Bracket Adjustment
Ifthe spiralat the bottomof the chutedirectionalcontrol
isnotfullyengagingwiththechuteassembly,the chute
bracketcan be adjusted.Todo so:
1. loosenthe twonutswhichsecurethechutebracket
and repositionitslightly.SeeFigure7.
2. Retighteningthe nuts.

It is not recommended
that you operatethis
snowthrower on gravel
as loose gravelcan be
easilypicked up and
thrown by the auger
causingpersonal injury
or damageto the snow
thrower,
Ifyou mustto operate
the snow thrower on
gravel,keepthe skid
shoe inthe highest
positionfor maximum
clearance betweenthe
groundand the shave
plate.
