If thestarterisdifficultto pull,removethesparkplugandpullthehandle
severaltimesto ensurethat anyoil trappedintheengineheadis removed.
Oilmaycomeout of the sparkplug holewhen it is removedand the starter
handleispulled.
6. Inspectthesparkplug.If it iswet,cleanoff anyoil beforere-installing.

Asaresultof boththecontrolcableandtheaugerdrivebeltstretchingdueto
wear,periodicadjustmentsmaybenecessary.If theaugerseemsto hesitatewhen
rotating,proceedasfollows:
Theupperholeinthecontrolhandleprovidesforan adjustmentin cabletension.
Toadjust,disconnecttheendofcontrolcablefromthebottomholeinthecontrol
handleandrelnsertit intheupperhole.Insertthecablefromtheoutsideasshown
in Figure18.

1. Runthesnowthroweruntil thefueltankisempty.
2. Pulltherecoilstarterhandleuntil resistanceisfelt.Thentip thesnow
throwerbackuntil it restsonthehandles.
3. Slideaboardupthroughtheaugerandthroughthechuteto securethe
augerinplace.
4. Removethebeltcoverby removingthethreehexwasherscrewsandonehex
lockscrewthatsecureit totheframe.SeeFigure19.
