CUTTING DECK REMOVAL
To remove the cutting deck, proceed as follows:
1. Placethe PTO(BladeEngage)leverin the disengaged(OFF)
positionandengagetheparkingbrake.
2. Lowerthedeck by movingthedeck lift lever intothe bottom
notchon the rightfender.
3. Removethe beltfromaroundthe tractor'sPTOpulley.SeeFig.
31.
Avoidpinchinginjuries.Neverplaceyour fingersonthe idlerspringor
betweenthebelt anda pulleywhile removingthebelt.

NOTE: Thebow-tieclipsshouldbe re-installedfromthe top

Movethedecklift leverintothe top notchon therightfenderto
raisethedecklift armsupandout of the way.
Unplugthewiring pigtailfromthe decksafetyswitch.
Carefullyremovethe PTOcablefromthe rearof the cuttingdeck
by removingthebow-tiecotterpinwhichsecuresit. Removethe
springfromthe deckidlerbracket.SeeFig.34.

Changing the Deck Belt
NOTE: Itis possibleto changethe deckbelt withthe cuttingdeckstill
installedonthe tractor,howeverit is mucheasierto removethe deck
first,changethedeck belt,then reinstallthecuttingdeck.
Tochangethe cuttingdeckbelt,proceedas follows:
1. Itis easiestto changethedeckbelt byfirst removingthecutting
deckas instructedearlierinthis section. Skipthisstepif deciding
to changethedeckbeltwiththe mowingdeck stillinstalledon the
unit.Otherwise,removethe cuttingdecknow.
