Performance, Rugged and Reliable
The Ranger 3 features a Texas Instruments AM3715 processor with 256MB and 8GB of non-
volatile internal memory, which can be upgraded via a SDHC memory card. The Windows®
6.5 Professional Operating System includes software such as Mobile Office. The removable
2600mAh battery will last for 34 hours and can be replaced in the field.
The Ranger 3 is tough enough to take anywhere because of its rugged construction and is
certified to MIL-STD 810G (IP67), which makes the unit dust and water-proof. The Ranger 3
can withstand multiple drops to concrete from a height of 4.0 feet, and it weighs only 18.7 oz.
The Ranger operates from –22°F to +140°F in rain or snow. The Ranger can operate in the
blazing heat, subzero cold, driving rain or dusty sites. It can also survive twenty six drops from
four feet onto concrete. The Ranger’s 4.2” touch screen is specifically designed for viewing in
direct sunlight and can be operated with gloves.
Integrated Connectivity
The Ranger 3 has a mini USB client (to connect to Microsoft ActiveSync or Windows Mobile
Device Center), a USB host port (to connect to USB client devices) and a DB9 RS-232
connector (for use with serial devices). All Ranger 3 Computers have embedded Bluetooth
wireless communication technology that can exchange information over a distance of up to
300 feet without requiring a direct physical connection. Also, the Ranger 3 series comes with
built-in Wi-Fi capability, which can wirelessly transmit data to and from the internet via access
points or hot spots.
The Ranger 3 comes with Windows Mobile 6.5 O/S, which gives an overall modern look to
the included suite of Office Mobile 2010. Third party software designed for Microsoft Windows
Mobile can be installed by running a setup program on the PC using either ActiveSync or
Windows Mobile Device Center.
