Configuring Symantec NetBackup
To configure, ensure you meet the appropriate requirements and complete the
following tasks.
Requirements:
The following items are required before you begin:
Supported versions: Symantec NetBackup 4.5, 5.1.x, 6.1.x, 6.5.2,
6.5.3.x, 6.5.4 Servers (Windows, Solaris, AIX, Linux, HP-UX and Tru64)
A Storage Manager OS agent must be installed on the NetBackup
master server.
The NetBackup install directory.
Configuring a Symantec NetBackup Server
To begin follow the instructions below.
1. On the New Device page, provide the appropriate values for the following
fields:
Server IP Address: Select the agent you want to monitor
Device Display Name: Type a descriptive name for the NetBackup
device (ex: NetBackup NY)
Timezone: Select the timezone of the Backup Server
Backup Start Window: Select the Backup start time. This should be the
approximate time backup jobs start for the day. If backups run all day,
define a 24 hour window.
Backup Window End: Select the Backup end time
Active: Do not clear this check box, doing so will stop information
collection
Device Groups: Optional - if you have configured groups, you can add
this backup server to them by clicking the group name
Licensing: Check this box if you want to assign a license to this device
2. Click Next> to continue to the next configuration screen.
