Mallory Fuel Filter Series 160

The Mallory Fuel Filter Series 160 is designed to lter automotive fuels in high performance fuel
injected street and racing applications with fuel ows of up to 200 G.P.H.
The lter is installed between the fuel pump and the fuel injector's. (Note: When using a Mallory fuel
injection pump, an additional lter such as Mallory PN 29239 (3140) must be installed between the
fuel pump and the fuel tank.) For dual fuel delivery systems, the lter is equipped with two 3/8 PT
inlets and outlets. For single systems, one inlet and outlet must be plugged.
To replace the lter element, remove the lower housing using a 3/4" wrench, taking care not to bend
the internal threaded rod. Exchange existing lter element with replacement lter using the gaskets
supplied with the new element.
Before replacing the lower lter housing, liberally lubricate the "O" ring on the upper housing
with light oil or grease. Use caution when reassembling the lter to prevent bending the internal
rod.
Note: When replacing the element, make sure you use the PN 29238 (3161), which is specially
designed for fuel injection applications which require greater ltration than carbureted systems. Do
