You can also move on to congure the next speaker by selecting the “Next
Speaker” option.
1. Size: Please set all speakers to LARGE.
NOTE The front, surround and surround back speakers are congured as
pairs. Changes to the size of one speaker will automatically change the
other speaker of the pair.
2. Distance: The speaker distance parameters set delay control for the
corresponding audio channel. The delay is to compensate for the audio
propagation time difference caused by the placement of speakers.
Speaker distance delay is only applied if the player is decoding multi-
channel audio. Since the delay is calculated based on the distance
difference from each speaker to the listener’s position, it is important to
set the distance for the front speakers rst and then the other speakers.
Any time you change the distance of the front speakers, the distance
of the other speakers will be automatically adjusted to maintain the same distance difference.
Because the Center is phantom, it should be set to the same distance as the fronts. The front distance can be adjusted to match the
video delay, which varies among displays.
3. Trim Level: The trim level should not be adjusted.
Other Audio Processing Settings
In addition to Speaker Conguration, Crossover Frequency and Dynamic
Range Control are audio processing settings that can be congured:
1. Crossover Frequency: Not relevant in this case as speakers are set to
LARGE.
2. Dynamic Range Control: DRC can smooth out the sound by reducing
the peaks and boasting the valleys. It would typically be used with
poorly produced TV shows were the voices are drowned out by the
background sounds. Enabling DRC may make low level audio more
audible during low-level listening. This should NEVER be used for
MUSIC! The available options are:
• Auto – Play at the dynamic range specied by the disc. This option
applies to Blu-ray Discs only. For other disc types no dynamic
range compression is applied.
• On – Turn on dynamic range compression.
• Off– Turn off dynamic range compression.
3. Output Volume: Leave on FIXED.
