Sounds During Normal Operation

High Pitched Chatter
High efficiency compressors could
create a high pitched chatter during
the cooling cycle.
Trickling Sound
Droplets of water hitting
condenser during normal
operation may cause a
trickling sound.
Gurgle or Hissing
A "gurgling or hissing" noise
may be heard due to refrigerant
passing through evaporator during
normal operation.
Sound of Rushing Air
The sound of rushing air
being moved by the fan
may be heard at the front
of the unit.
The following illustration and descriptions represent noises that may be heard from the air
conditioner during normal operation. These are normal and do not indicate there is a malfunction.
If you should hear noises other than the ones listed, or find the unit is funtioning abnormally,
discontinue use, and refer to the troubleshooting section of this manual before contacting
technical support.
Vibration
The unit may vibrate and
make noise because of
poor wall or window
construction or incorrect
installation.
