CONNECTIONS AND SETUP 3. CONNECTIONS AND SETUP 3.1 HDD Installation (Take Model 1 as an example) The HDD must be installed before the DVR is turned on. Step 1: Loose the screws on the upper cover and open the upper cover of the DVR. Step 2: Remove the HDD bracket. Step 3: Get a compatible SATA HDD, and connect it to the power connector and data bus connector (make sure to align the HDD precisely for pin connection). Step 4: Put the HDD to the DVR, and replace the HDD bracket back to the DVR base.
CONNECTIONS AND SETUP 3.2 Camera Connection The cameras must be connected and power-supplied BEFORE the DVR is turned on. The DVR will automatically detect the video system of the connected camera(s) (NTSC / PAL), and switch itself to the correct system. Note: For detailed DVR video input / output ports, please refer to “2.2 Rear Panel” at page 5. For detailed camera operation, please refer to its own manual.

For the connection method, please refer to the following figure as an example (do not use gender changer). For detailed connection, please refer to your VGA converter manual. 3.3.2 IR Transmitter (Model 3 & 4 only) Please connect the IR receiver line to the IR port on the DVR rear panel.

ADVANCED MENU 4) LS (Level of Sensitivity) “LS” is to set the sensitivity of comparing two different images. The smaller the value is, the higher sensitivity for motion detection. The highest sensitivity setting is 00, and the lowest sensitivity setting is 15. The default value is 07. 5) SS (Spatial Sensitivity) “SS” is to set the sensitivity for detecting the size of one object (the number of the grids) on the screen. The smaller the value is, the higher sensitivity for motion detection.
ADVANCED MENU 5) RATE Set the baud rate of each channel (2400 / 4800 / 9600 / 19200 / 57600). For the connected cameras, such as PTZ and speed dome cameras, etc., please make sure their baud rate setting is the same as the setting here. 7.4 DISPLAY In this menu list, you can check and change some display settings. Move the cursor to “DISPLAY”, and press ”ENTER”.
ADVANCED MENU 1) EXT. ALERT Select to enable or disable the sound when any external alarm is triggered (ON / OFF). 2) INT. BUZZER Select to enable or disable the sound (ON / OFF) for all the internal buzzers: KEY BUZZER, VLOSS BUZZER, MOTION BUZZER, ALARM BUZZER, and HDD BUZZER. Note: When this item is set to OFF, item 3) to item 7) will be disabled even though they are set to ON. 3) KEY BUZZER Select to enable or disable the sound when pressing the buttons on the front panel (ON / OFF).
ADVANCED MENU Note: Users who use guest password to access the DVR will be only allowed to view the live streaming video and sequence display, shift the channel display, and lock keys. 5) RESET DEFAULT Press “ENTER” to reset all settings as default, and select “YES” to confirm or “NO” to cancel. 6) CLEAR HDD Press “ENTER”, and select “YES” to confirm to clear HDD or “NO” to cancel. 7) UPGRADE Press “ENTER”, and select “YES” to confirm upgrade or “NO” to cancel.

The red text indication “REC” will be shown at the top left corner of the image display view. If “Motion” and / or “Alarm” are checked, the recording function will also be enabled at the remote side when any event is triggered at the DVR side, and the recordings will be saved in the specified location.

Simultaneous Playback To view the backup images simultaneously when the download process is in progress, select the checkbox “Simultaneous Playback”. You will see the backup images while the images are being downloaded to the PC or notebook. 6 To simply backup images without previewing, deselect the checkbox “Simultaneous Playback”.
REMOTE OPERATION Record time setting There are two ways to set the record time: Weekly and Custom. Weekly Click “Weekly” tab, and you will see a weekly time table indicating the week days (Mon ~ Sun) and hours (0 ~ 24), similar to the figure below: X axis: 0 ~ 24 hours. Each time interval within a square is 15 minutes. Y axis: Monday ~ Sunday.
REMOTE OPERATION How to modify / delete a current time setting: 1. Select the schedule setting you want to modify from the schedule table. The setting will be displayed in the left setting panel. 2. Modify the setting in the left setting panel, and click “Update”. 3. You will be prompted to confirm the setting. Click “OK” if the information is correct. Click “Cancel” if the information is wrong. 4. To delete one schedule setting, select it, and click “Delete”.
REMOTE OPERATION In “General”, you will see the following items: Item Description Firmware Version Display the current firmware version of your DVR. MAC Address Display the MAC address. Turbo Step Speed up the menu selection under the AP from 1 to 10. Ex: If the value of the turbo step is set to 5, one mouse-click will function as 5 mouse-clicks when you click one of the buttons Title / / / in the DVR control panel. Provide a title for this DVR. Only 15 characters are allowed.
REMOTE OPERATION Column Description Password Set the password that will be used for remote login. The password allows up to 8 characters. User Level Set the security level of an account to give the permission to control different AP functions. There are 4 user levels: Supervisor, Power User, Normal User and Guest.

The information you set here will be applied when the function of FTP notification is enabled in the "Alert" menu. MAIL Click “ ” (Miscellaneous Control) → “ ” (Server Setting) → “Network” → “MAIL” to go into the “MAIL” page. Enter the detailed E-mail information and press “Apply” to confirm.

Mail From Enter the entire mail address to ensure E-mails will not be blocked by SMTP. Verify Password Some mail servers are required to verify the password. Please enter the “user name” and “password”. Email Address Add the E-mail address(s) of the assigned recipient(s). Note: Users can assign up to 4 mail accounts for E-mail notification.

De-interlace Select to enable or disable the de-interlace function (ON / OFF). Daylight Saving Specify whether to use daylight saving time (ON / OFF). If this function is enabled, set the time period (START / END), and adjust the daylight saving time in hours (ADJUST).

If this function is enabled, you might need to set the motion detection sensitivity or simply keep the default values. For details, please see the description below. Motion Detection Sensitivity (LS / SS / TS / RE) Set the detection sensitivity in 4 different adjustable factors (LS / SS / TS / RE).

When any alarm is triggered, the DVR will record 8MB video data before the alarm event is actually happened. Record Timer In this menu list, you can set the record schedule for normal recording or motion recording.

REMOTE OPERATION ‧Firmware To upgrade your DVR firmware remotely, click “Firmware” tab, and follow the steps below: a). In the “Firmware” section, you will see the current firmware version. To upgrade the firmware version of your DVR, click “Add” to locate and select the firmware file. The file will be shown in the firmware list. b).

To start updating the OSD language, choose the files from the list, and click “Update Language” to start the upgrade process. ‧Logo To replace the logo shown in the DVR boot display, click “Logo” tab, and follow the steps below: a). Prepare a graphic file in the “BMP” format for replacement. Note: Use the image software to set the image size to 320 * 240, and save the image as an 8-bit (64-color) image in the "BMP" format. b) Click “Add” to locate and select the graphic file.
REMOTE OPERATION Status List Click “ ” to view all the event and record logs (All), or search for the specific log(s) by date or by record type (Condition). There are three types of logs: Record, Backup and Event. To playback the recorded data for a specific record or backup log, select the log, and double-click to start the video playback. For detailed playback operation, please refer to “Playback” at page 54.

REMOTE OPERATION 8.2 IE Web Browser You can view the live images only via IE web browser. Note: The supported PC operation systems are Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Step 1: Key in the IP address used by your DVR in the URL address box, such as 60.121.46.236, and press Enter. You will be prompted to enter the user name and password to access the DVR. If the port number your DVR used is NOT 80, you need to key in the port number additionally. The format is ipaddress:portnum. For example, for IP address 60.
REMOTE OPERATION 8.3 QuickTime Player You can also use the QuickTime player to remotely log into the DVR and check the live view only. Note: QuickTime is Apple’s multimedia software. You need to have QuickTime installed in you operation system first, and you can access the DVR to see the live view. If you have installed QuickTime, please skip Step 1. Quando si avvia la registrazione, anche l’input audio sarà registrato. 6) OUT AUDIO Permette di collegare un monitor o casse con 1 output audio mono. 7) USB (solo modello 3 e 4) Collegare a questa porta una unita Flash USB compatibile per eseguire backup o aggiornamenti rapidi del firmware/del menu a video.
COLLEGAMENTI E CONFIGURAZIONE 3. COLLEGAMENTI E CONFIGURAZIONE 3.1 Installazione del disco rigido (prendere il modello 1 come esempio) Le unità HDD devono essere installate prima di accendere il DVR. Fase 1: allentare le viti sulla copertura superiore del DVR ed aprirla. Due lati Lato posteriore FASE 1-1: rimuovere le viti FASE 1-2: rimuovere il coperchio superiore del DVR Fase 2: Rimuovere la staffa del disco rigido.
COLLEGAMENTI E CONFIGURAZIONE 3.2 Collegamento telecamera Le telecamere devono essere collegate ed alimentate PRIMA di accendere il DVR. Il DVR rileverà automaticamente il sistema video della telecamera collegata (NTSC / PAL) e commuterà sul sistema corretto. Nota: per informazioni dettagliate sulle porte di ingresso / uscita del DVR, vedere “2.2 Pannello posteriore” a pagina 5. Fare riferimento al manuale della telecamera per i dettagli di funzionamento.

MENU AVANZATO 4) LS (Livello di Sensibilità) “LS” permette di impostare la sensibilità per il confronto di due immagini diverse. Più piccolo è il valore, più alta è la sensibilità di rilevamento del movimento. L’impostazione massima del livello di sensibilità è 00, e l’impostazione minima è 15. Il valore predefinito è 07. 5) SS (Spazio di Sensibilità) “SS” permette di impostare la sensibilità per rilevare le dimensioni (il numero di griglie) di un oggetto sullo schermo.
MENU AVANZATO 4) PROTOCOL Permette di selezionare NORMALE (il nostro protocollo) o il protocollo P-D (PELCO-D). 5) RATE Permette di impostare la velocità Baud per ciascun canale (2400 / 4800 / 9600 / 19200 / 57600). Assicurarsi che la velocità Baud delle telecamere collegate, come PTZ e Speed Dome Camera, sia uguale all’impostazione qui configurata. 7.4 VISUALIZZA In questo menu si possono controllare e modificare alcune impostazioni dello schermo. Spostare il cursore su “VISUALIZZA” e premere ”ENTER”.
MENU AVANZATO Di seguito sono descritte le voci del menu secondario: 1) AVVISO EST. Permette di abilitare o disabilitare il sonoro quando qualsiasi allarme esterno è attivato (ACCESO / SPENTO). 2) AVVISO INT. Permette di abilitare o disabilitare il sonoro (ACCESO / SPENTO) di tutti i segnali interni: SEGNALE TASTI, SEGNALE V. PERSO, SEGNALE MOVIM., SEGNALE ALLARME e SEGNALE HD. Nota: Quando questa voce è impostata su SPENTO, le voci da 3) a 7) saranno disabilitate anche se sono impostate su ACCESO.
MENU AVANZATO 4) PASSWORD Premere “ENTER” per ripristinare la password d’accesso a sistema del DVR (PASSWORD ADMIN o PASSWORD GUEST). La password può essere composta di 4 cifre al massimo. Nota: Gli utenti che usano la password Guest per accedere al DVR, potranno solo guardare il video dal vivo, visualizzare la sequenza, cambiare il canale e bloccare i tasti.

Settimanale Fare clic sulla scheda “Weekly” (Settimanale) e sarà possibile vedere una tabella oraria settimanale con i giorni della settimana (Lun - Dom) e le ore (0-24), simile alla figura in basso: Asse delle X: 0 ~ 24 ore. Ogni intervallo di tempo all’interno del quadrato dura 15 minuti. Asse delle Y: Lunedì ~ Domenica.
REMOTE OPERATION Come modificare / eliminare una impostazione oraria corrente: 1. Selezionare l’impostazione di programmazione che si desidera modificare dalla tabella di programmazione. L’impostazione verrà visualizzata nel pannello delle impostazioni di sinistra. 2. Modificare l’impostazione nel pannello delle impostazioni di sinistra, quindi fare clic su “Update” (Aggiorna). 3. Verrà richiesto di confermare l’impostazione. In questo caso, fare clic su “OK”.

Fase 1: Nel campo dell’indirizzo URL inserire l’indirizzo IP usato dal DVR, a esempio 60.121.46.236, e premere Enter(Enter ). Nota: QuickTime è un software multimediale Apple. Per accedere al DVR e vedere la visualizzazione dal vivo, è necessario avere QuickTime installato nel proprio sistema operativo. Se QuickTime è stato installato, passare al Passo 1. Fase 1: Andare sul sito ufficiale di Apple per scaricare QuickTime.

Network Setup Guide 1 Glossary 1.1 Static IP Computers are communicated and recognized by their own unique IP addresses over the Internet. “Static IP” provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) means the IP address of the computer is fixed, and is suitable to build a website. 1.2 Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) Users can easily have high-speed Internet services as long as they’re ready for the following things: 1) Insert an Ethernet card into the PC. 2) Obtain ADSL service via any ISP.
Note: Your PC / laptop and DVR must be under the same domain to build an area network. Please change the IP address of your PC / laptop into 192.168.1.X (X can be the number between 1~255, except 10) to login. The default IP address of your DVR is 192.168.1.10, and the default username as well as the password is admin. Double click the shortcut icon on the desktop to enter the “Video Viewer” screen. The interface of IP address book will be shown.
Then click “Server Setting” on the miscellaneous control panel. Click “Network” in the tree path on the left of the server setting interface. 3 network connection types are available: Static IP, PPPOE and DHCP. If you have a static IP address obtained from the local ISP, you can set the “IP Type” as “Static IP”. Otherwise, apply for a DDNS account to appoint a fixed domain name for the dynamic IP address, and then set the “IP Type” as “PPPoE” or “DHCP”. 2.1 Static IP Set the “IP Type” as “Static IP”.
Go to http://www.dyndns.com and sign up a DDNS account. Sign up Enter all the information necessary for signing up an account according to the website instructions. 1. Key in a user name for login. This name is not equal to the domain name. 2. Key in your E-mail address and input it again to confirm. 3. Set the password and input it again to confirm.
4. Click “Create Account” Then, you will see the screen “Account Created”, and Dyndns will email the instructions to your specified E-mail address. Please read this email within 48 hours and complete the procedure to activate your account according to the instructions in the email.
Go to the hyperlink in the email and you will see “Account Confirmed”. Your account is created successfully now. Input the user name and password you preset before to log in. Input the user name and password to login.

Press “Apply” to confirm. Connect your DVR to ADSL modem, and your DVR will be connected to the Internet with PPPoE setting and enable the DDNS function.

2.4 DHCP Get a router and connect it to the Internet via your PC or laptop (with Static IP or PPPoE setting). There are different setting methods for different routers. Now take D-Link DI-707P for example. Log in the router, http://192.168.0.1. Default user name: admin Default password: admin Go to “WAN” page for the network setting. Select PPPoE and input the User Name / Password.
Go to “DHCP” page to enable DHCP. Enable DHCP and set the IP address range and the loose time. Then go to “WAN” page, select “Advanced” Æ “DDNS”: Set “DDNS” as “Enabled”, and set “Provider” as “DynDNS” from the pull-down menu. Then key in the “Host Name”, “User Name” and “Password” in this page, and click “Apply” to save the setting.
Go to “Network”. Set “IP Type” as “DHCP”, and set the port number from 1 to 9999 (except 80) so that the router can send the packets to the specified IP address. Press “Apply” to confirm. Connect your DVR to your router, and your DVR will automatically detect DHCP and get an IP address. Then, go to the menu of your DVR to find the IP address.
Go to the WAN page of the router via your PC or laptop, and select “Advanced” tag to change the port number of the IP address into the same number you just entered in the AP software. The port number for Private Port and Public Port must be the same. Input all the necessary information Press “Apply” and you will see the following setting list. Open the supplied AP software, and enter the domain name, user name / password (admin / admin by default), and the new port number.
