SOUND ABSORPTION
QuietWalk’s filaments are randomly air-laid creating a
capillary affect to cushion the floor, absorb sound, and help
make laminate floors sound more like real wood.
MOISTURE PROTECTION
When installed properly, QuietWalk’s fibers can manage
moisture that surfaces in the form of vapors from concrete
floors effectively. The fibers allow concrete to “breathe”
never allowing vapors to become bulk moisture under
floating floors. The attached vapor barrier protects the
overlying flooring from harmful moisture. Fibers are treated
with a safe anti-microbial to inhibit mold and mildew.
SMOOTHING OUT MINOR SUB-FLOOR IMPERFECTIONS.
QuietWalk is firm enough to support the overlaying floor,
but flexible enough to form around sub-floor surface
roughness that may otherwise cause laminate panels to
“rock” or lay unevenly.
ECONOMICAL ALTERNATIVE TO RUBBER & CORK
QuietWalk is ideally priced as a quality upgrade from 2 in
1 polyethylene or polystyrene products and is less costly
than most froth foam, cork or rubber underlayments with
similar sound numbers.
ADDING INSULATION VALUE
QuietWalk will add an R-Value of .58 to the floor system.

ENVIRONMENTAL ATTRIBUTES
• QuietWalk is certified by Scientific Certifications Systems
(SCS) to contain
94% post industrial/pre-consumer fibers.
QuietWalk may satisfy LEED
TM
credits and may contribute
to MRC4.1-4.2 and EQc4.3 ( Low-Emitting Materials).
• QuietWalk is also Indoor Air Quality Certified through SCS
and conforms to the Collaborative for High Performance
Schools (CHPS) – CA Section 01350
LIMITATIONS
QuietWalk is not suitable for use as underlayment for:
• Ceramic tile • Glued-down wood
• Sheet-vinyl • VCT
Installations over concrete in high moisture areas (Vapor
emission rate above 5 lbs/ 1000 sq ft/ 24 hrs) will require
additional protection such as a concrete sealant or
polyethylene vapor barrier.
