3. Featured Functions
This chapter explains how to access TN-5500’s various configuration, monitoring, and administration functions.
These functions can be accessed by serial, Telnet, or web console. The serial console can be used if you do not
know TN-5500’s IP address and requires that you connect the TN-5500 to a PC COM port. The Telnet and web
consoles can be opened over an Ethernet LAN or the Internet.
The web console is the most user-friendly way to configure TN-5500. In this chapter, we use the web console
interface to introduce the functions. There are only a few differences between the web console, serial console,
and Telnet console.
