5-3
RS-485 Interface
The RS-485 standard is an enhanced version of the RS-422 balanced line standard. It allows
multiple drivers and receivers to work on a multidrop network. A maximum of 32 drivers and 32
receivers can be set up on a multidrop network.
The CP-134U Series supports both 2-wire half-duplex and 4-wire full-duplex RS-485
communications. In 2-wire RS-485, Data+/- pins are used for both data transmitting and receiving,
depending on the RTS signal.
