Embedded Module Series
MOXA’s Embedded Module Series is designed for system integration and software development in industrial applications. This
mini-size core module can be easily integrated into systems for implementation in related industrial applications, such as data
acquisition and control systems.
The embedded modules come with a seamless μClinux operating system that accelerates the development process, helping you
reduce your time to market. You can build applications that have a powerful serial communication capability, but which are still
small in size. MOXA’s embedded modules are well-suited for control systems that use a distributed, embedded architecture, such
as the systems used by gas stations, vending machines, and ticketing machines.

Industrial-grade Module for Industrial Applications
MOXA’s Embedded Module Series includes 2- and 4-port software-selectable RS-232/422/485 serial ports for attaching different
types of industrial devices. In addition, the MOXA ART ARM9 32-bit 192 MHz processor promises a powerful performance for
system operation. The two auto-sensing 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports default to the higher 100M speed when available, and
ensure network connectivity redundancy. In addition, the GPIO pins provide ample design flexibility, giving you the freedom to
develop the features your customers need. SD signals are supported for external SD socket connections for storage expansion.
These features are better suited for today's equipment. R&D engineers can spend less effort developing related software, and
you can essentially reduce the cost of building the entire system. In addition, a wide-temperature model that works reliably in a
temperature range of -40 to 75℃ is also available for the EM-1220 embedded module, ensuring a reliable solution for any harsh
environment.

Easy-to-Use Development Kit
MOXA’s embedded modules offer the ready-to-run μClinux operating system that helps you minimize the effort required for
system development. In addition, the compact design provides all the components you need to get your products to market in
no time—CPU, RAM, Flash, and even the more complex components, such as an OS Kernel, drivers, and middleware.
A Development Kit used to evaluate MOXA’s embedded modules can be ordered separately. The kit includes an embedded
module, an embedded module carrier board, relevant documents, a software CD, and the items needed to set up a basic layout.
The kit makes it easy for users to evaluate the functionality of the embedded modules. You can develop and integrate the
specific hardware on the module in advance to make the embedded modules completely compatible with industrial systems and
applications.
