MOXA Embedded Computers
Overview
RISC-based Ready-to-Run Wireless Embedded Computers with GSM/GPRS,
1/2/4 Serial Ports, LAN, SD, USB and Relay Output
The ThinkCore W300 Series of RISC-based wireless embedded computers provide two types of communication solution. The W311,
W321, and W341 models support short range WLAN transmission, and the W315, W325, and W345 models support 802.11a/b/g or
long range GSM/GPRS cellular transmission. In addition, the W300 embedded computers come with RS-232/422/485 serial ports, an
Ethernet port, and an SD socket, as well as two USB 2.0 hosts and one relay output channel in a mini size, rugged chassis. All W300
wireless embedded computers use the MOXA ART ARM9 32-bit RISC processor, which helps guarantee that the embedded computers
are solid control units, and fully satisfy users’ demands for data processing efficiency and performance.
Designed with a small package, versatile communication features, and a strong computing platform, the ThinkCore W300 embedded
computers use existing wired or wireless networks to connect serial devices for demanding numerical computing, protocol conversion,
and data processing tasks. The W311, W321, and W341 models support 802.11a/b/g to provide data transmission and device
monitoring at locations that require wireless communication; various encryption options are available for data transmission security. The
W315, W325, and W345 models have an embedded GSM/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900 cellular module that extends the network system
for long-range communication, fully ensuring seamless and reliable communication for industrial applications. Users can build peer-to-
peer, distributed wireless communication embedded systems to make traditional wired devices wireless, and provide higher mobility and
greater intelligence.
The pre-installed ready-to-run Linux-based operating system provides an open software operating system for software program
development. This means that software written for desktop PCs is easily ported to the ThinkCore W300 by using a common compiler, so
that you won’t need to spend time modifying existing software code. The operating system, device drivers, and your own software can
all be stored in the ThinkCore W300’s Flash memory. All of these features make the ThinkCore W300 embedded computers an optimal
choice for setting up applications that require serial and WLAN/Cellular communications.
