Step 3: Download logic to server
When the I/O control logic has been completely defined, one click in
ioAdmin downloads the entire set of rules onto your ioLogik E2000
Ethernet I/O server. The server will automatically restart with the
ruleset loaded. Note that the ruleset still needs to be activated for
Active Ethernet I/O operation to begin.
Step 4: Run ioAdmin to activate Active Ethernet I/O
operation
After your ioLogik server has restarted, ioAdmin will automatically
reconnect to the server. Access the Click&Go tab again by logging in
as an administrator, then click the “Run” button to activate the control
logic.
Conclusion
In just four easy steps, you can set up your own customized control
logic for Active Ethernet I/O operation on your ioLogik E2000 Ethernet
I/O server.
Using Active Ethernet I/O
Active Ethernet I/O is an ideal solution for applications in remote
monitoring, data collection, asset/environment control and notification:
Server rooms for temperature and humidity control, back-up power
supply initiation, and more
Buildings, shopping-centers, and airports for temperature and
humidity control
Roadside cabinets for telecommunication/power industries
Air-conditioning and heating unit supervision
Tank level monitoring and pump control
Door and window sensors in airports and museums
Warehouse temperature and humidity control
Medical storage
Food and chemical industry
Shopping mall visitor tracking
There are many ways that Active Ethernet I/O can be used to enhance
your existing applications, improve your system’s cost effectiveness,
or help you develop new, more powerful applications.

Instead of relying on host computers that
continually poll I/O devices for data, Active
Ethernet I/O servers can proactively report
sensor status using TCP or UDP messages.
Proactive messaging allows much faster
notification of I/O events and generates much
lower network and CPU loads. Message content
is fully customizable, and up to 10 simultaneous
destinations are supported.
Active Ethernet I/O can be configured for SNMP
management of I/O control and reporting.
Customized SNMP traps can be triggered
by I/O events like a light switch turning on.
SNMP software can be used for sophisticated
automation, monitoring, and control of sensors
and switches over Ethernet.
