Troubleshooting
Intellio C218Turbo User's Manual 6-5
UNIX
This section is specific for troubleshooting under UNIX. For general problems and
solutions, please see previous Section “General Troubleshooting”.
1. During system reboot, error message “WARNING! C218Turbo (XX000)
not found!” appears.
a. Make sure you’re using the right driver. Please note that C218 Plus board
requires version 3.x driver while C218Turbo requires version 5.x driver.
b. Check if the board is properly plugged into ISA/EISA bus slot.
c. Check if the Memory Bank and IRQ settings (software configuration) are
same as settings on board (hardware configuration).
d. Examine your PC hardware configuration thoroughly such as Shadow RAM,
SCSI device configuration, network interface card, VGA adaptor, and so on.
Any device, which occupies memory bank, should be prevented from
colliding with the memory bank used by MOXA intelligent boards.
e. Try the memory banks other than C800H, CC00H. Some mother board BIOS
may occupy these memory areas.
2. During system reboot, error message “ERROR! C218Turbo
(MemBank=XX000) download failed!” appears.
The possible cause is memory conflict or defective board. Please shutdown the
system first, and then refer to the corresponding problem and solutions in
previous Section “General Troubleshooting”.
3. MOXA port responds too slowly or abnormal key operation.
The applications are not compatible with the C218Turbo On Board Line
Discipline. The only way to work it around is to set On-board line discipline
feature to “Disable” in [Board] sub-menu of Advanced configuration (Section
“UNIX” of Chapter “Software Installation”).
4. When respawning quite a few number of tty ports, the following error
messages appear: “Time out table overflow”, “File table overflow”, “Region
table overflow”.
