6-4 Intellio C218Turbo User's Manual
Windows 95/98
This section is specific for troubleshooting under Windows 95/98. For general
problems and solutions, please see previous Section “General Troubleshooting”.
1. After system reboot, error message “C218 Turbo at base memory [XX000]
is absent or occupied by others!” appears.
a. Make sure you’re using the right driver. Please note that C218 plus board
requires version 3.x driver while C218Turbo board requires version 5.x
driver.
b. Check if the board is properly plugged into ISA/EISA bus slot.
c. Check if the Memory Bank and IRQ settings in the SETUP program are same
as the settings on board.
d. Examine your PC hardware configuration thoroughly such as Shadow RAM,
SCSI device configuration, network interface card, VGA adaptor, and so on.
Any device, which occupies memory bank, should be prevented from
colliding with the memory bank used by MOXA intelligent boards.
e. Examine your PC software configuration for memory management program
such as EMM386.exe and make sure they will not use the memory bank used
by MOXA intelligent boards. For example, if the memory bank of
C218Turbo set to c8000, the EMM386.EXE in CONFIG.SYS should be set
as follows: device = c:/dos/emm386.exe c800-cbff noems (or ram). Please
note that you should reserve memory bank for the length at lease 16K bytes
for each C218Turbo boards.
f. Try the memory banks other than C800H, CC00H. Some mother board BIOS
may occupy these memory areas.
2. After system reboot, error message “C218 Turbo at base memory [XX000]
interrupt failure!” appears.
a. IRQ number assigned in driver is not identical to IRQ setting on the board.
b. Other PCI device occupies the assigned IRQ number. Please reboot and enter
BIOS. Go to PCI/PnP configuration menu and set the IRQ as Legacy ISA”
device.
c. Other ISA device occupies the assigned IRQ number. If you’re not sure which
device cause the situation, please simply change to another IRQ.
3. Error Message: “C218tnt.cod file not found!”, “C218tnt.cod file length is
wrong!”, or “C218tnt.cod file data content error!”.
It means something is wrong with driver installation or the file has been deleted
accidentally or corrupted somehow. To recover the file, install the driver again.
