Overview
This chapter explains how to install, configure, update, and remove the board drivers for Windows
Vista. The following models are supported:
CP-102U CP-114UL CP-132UL-I V2 CP-138U-I
CP-102UL CP-118U CP-134U V2 CP-168U V2
CP-104JU V2 CP-118U-I CP-134U-I V2 POS-104UL
CP-104UL V2 CP-132UL V2 CP-138U
Windows Vista supports up to 256 serial ports, from COM1 to COM256. Moxa developed pure 32
and 64-bit Windows device drivers in order to fully utilize the advanced multi-process and
multi-thread features of Windows Vista. The drivers conform to the Win32 COMM API standard.
You can download the drivers from the MOXA website. For information on developing your own
serial programming applications, please refer to Chapter 9.
Before installing the software, be sure to install the hardware first. For details on installing the
hardware, please refer to Chapter 2.
The overall procedure for installing the
drivers is shown on the right. A newly
installed board will be automatically
detected by the operating system.
Install the board in an available PCI slot
on the PC
