Configuration Item Description
Select Enable to have MOXA EtherDevice Server’s IP
address automatically assigned by your network’s DHCP
server.
DHCP
Select Disable to set up MOXA EtherDevice Server’s IP
address manually.
IP Address Identifies MOXA EtherDevice Server on a TCP/IP network.
Subnet mask
Identifies the type of network MOXA EtherDevice Server is
connected to. Enter 255.255.0.0 for a Class B network, and
255.255.255.0 for a Class C network.
Default Gateway
Enter your router’s IP address if your LAN connects to an
outside network.
DNS Server’s
IP Address
Enter the IP address of the DNS Server used by your
network.*
Trap Server
IP Address
Enter the IP address of the Trap Server used by your network.
SNMP Community
Provides some added managerial security, since only SNMP
servers with the same “SNMP Community” can read the
EDS’s MIB values.
Server Object ID The private SNMP Object ID of Moxa EtherDevice Server.
*After entering the DNS Server’s IP address, you can input MOXA EtherDevice Server’s
url (e.g., www.eds.company.com
) in your browser’s address field, instead of entering the IP
address.
