Chapter 5Introduction to Operation Modes

In this chapter, we describe the various device port operation modes available on the NPort 5600-

8-DT. The operation mode determines how the device port will interact with the network. The

selection of operation mode will depend on your specific application. After choosing the proper

operation mode in this chapter, please refer to Chapter 6 for information on configuring the

operation mode advanced settings.
