If you are familiar with Moxa’s embedded computers and the firmware upgrade procedure, you
may skip to Step D. However, we suggest that you follow all procedures to ensure that each step is
correct.
A. Configure HyperTerminal for the Console Port.
1. Connect your embedded computer to a power source.
2. Connect the console port of the UC-7112-LX Plus Series embedded computer to your PC
using a console port cable. The power input is located on the top panel, and the console port is
located on the side panel of the UC-7112-LX Plus. See the following figure for details.

3. Launch a serial communication tool to access your embedded computer. We suggest that you
use HyperTerminal, which is built into Windows XP. Click Start Æ Programs Æ
Accessories Æ Communications and then select HyperTerminal.
