GREEN & YELLOW: EARTH
BLUE: NEUTRAL - BROWN: LIVE
As the colours in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in
your plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured GREEN & YELLOW
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter ‘E’ or by the
earth symbol
or coloured green or green
and yellow. The wire which is coloured BLUE
must be connected to the terminal which is
marked with the letter ‘N’ or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured BROWN must be
connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter ‘L’ or coloured red.
This appliance is manufactured to conform to
the Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (Safety)
Regulations 1989 and is designed to comply
with BS 3456. It complies with the EEC
Directive (89/336 EEC).
- Your appliance is intended solely for
domestic use within the home.
- Unplug your appliance as soon as you have
finished using it and when you are cleaning
it.
- Never use your appliance if it is not working
correctly, or if it has been damaged. If this
happens, contact an approved Moulinex
service centre (see list in service booklet).
- Any intervention other than cleaning and nor-
mal maintenance by the customer must be
carried by an approved Moulinex service
centre.
- Never place the appliance, the power cable
or the plug in water or any other liquid.
- Never allow the power cable to hang down
within reach of children.
- The power cable must never be allowed to
be close to or in contact with the hot parts of
your appliance, close to a source of heat or
to rest on a sharp edge.
- If the power cable or the plug are damaged,
do not use the appliance. To prevent any
danger, these must be replaced by approved
Moulinex service centre (see list in service
booklet).
- For your own safety, only use the
accessories and spare parts from Moulinex
which are suitable for your appliance.
- Do not remove the appliance whilst it is in
use.
- Do not use the kettle when you have wet
hands or walking barefoot.
- This appliance must only be used for heating
water; do not insert any object in your kettle.
- Keep your hands away from the pouring
spout as the water boils and avoid any con-
tact with any hot surfaces.
- Descale your kettle regularly.
- Never use the kettle without its lid.
- It is advised not to use multiple plug or cord
extension leads.
- If the kettle is overfilled there is a risk that
boiling water may be ejected.
Warning: This appliance heats up when in
use.
How to use your kettle
Before using for the first time, rinse the
interior of your kettle.
- Always unplug the kettle before filling, or
pouring water.
You can fill the kettle either through the lid or
the spout.
Models without water level indicator:
- Make sure the heating element is completely
covered by water.
- Do not overfill the kettle (check with the maxi-
mum mark which is located on the inside of
the kettle) (Minimum = 0,3 l / Maximum =
1,5 l).
Models with water level indicator:
- Fill kettle between minimum(0,3 l) and maxi-
mum (1,5 l) marks as shown on the water
level indicator.
Important: If you remove the lid, make sure it
is replaced properly, in order to prevent steam
leakage or a malfunction of the automatic
switch.
. Plugging your kettle in
Without base : Stand the kettle on a stable
surface and plug it in.
With base : Stand the kettle base on a firm,
level surface. Place the kettle on its base and
plug it in.
The kettle base is only for use with cordless
kettles.
- To switch on, place the On/Off switch to po-
sition «I».
. Double Safety
Like all kettles in the Moulinex range, it will
automatically switch itself off when the water
reaches boiling point and the switch will return
to the off "0" position.
If you want to interrupt the boiling cycle you
can manually switch the kettle off, at any time,
by moving the switch to the off "0" position.
