18 Before You Begin Read This First Motorola recommends that you read this entire document before you begin installing the Motorola Remote Control Solution (MotoRC) for the WT4090 voice-only wearable device (VOW). About the Guide The MotoRC WT4090 VOW Software Installation Guide provides general instructions for installing the Motorola Remote Control Solution for the WT4090 VOW. Newer versions of this document may be available at: http://support.symbol.com/support/product/softwaredownloads.do.

3 -- MotoRC for WT4090 VOW Software Installation Guide Chapter 1 – Delivery Method and Minimum Requirements Delivery Method MotoRC for the WT4090 VOW is a software-only release in an msi setup package. The JRE 1.6 Java runtime environment is required for the MotoRC desktop component and is included with the msi setup package. The installer will check for the valid JRE version and install it if necessary.
4 MotoRC for WT4090 VOW Software Installation Guide Category Requirements Hardware These are only recommendations and you may obtain satisfactory performance on computers with a configuration that differs from these specifications.
Chapter 2 – Installing MotoRC Uninstall Previous Versions Uninstall any previous versions of MotoRC before installing the latest version. Note: If the MotoRC is already installed, double clicking on the MotoRC setup package will uninstall the existing version.
Installing MotoRC To Install MotoRC: 1. Download the setup package 2. Locate MotoRC_Setup.exe and double-click the file to display the Installation Wizard (Figure 1). Figure 1 3. Click Next to display the license agreement (Figure 2).

Figure 5 o IS installed, the MotoRC Setup Status dialog box will display and MotoRC will be installed. 7. Once the installation is complete, the following MotoRC files will be created in the folder where user has installed MotoRC (e.g., Under “C:\Program Files\Motorola MSP\MotoRC.” The files created are: Table 2 – Files Created at Installation Name Description DesktopDLL.dll DLL needed to initiate the native calls to the device mrc_signed.
Note: In order to use the MotoRC in a standalone (Active Sync mode), make sure active sync is properly connected between device and the local system PC. Installing MotorRC on a Device To install MotoRC on a device 1. Locate run_file.bat. 2. Double-click run_file.bat to connect to the device (Figure 6). Figure 6 3. Ifo MotoRC is not installed on the device, installation will be automatic.

After successful installation, following files/folders are created on the device (Under \Application\MotoRC folder): Table 3 – Files Created on the Device Name Description MRC.exe This is the MotoRC executable running in the device side. At a time only one instance will be running. Config.xml MRC_Start.RUN msg.properties MrcAES.dll This file contains the configuration details of the MotoRC in the device side.
Name MrcCleaner.exe Logs Description This file is used to cleanup the MotoRC during uninstalling the MotoRC. Folder created to contain the log files. Note: In case Active sync is not connected, the applet will open without having a MotoRC connection to the device. You will still be able to use MotoRC through a WLAN (you will have to manually provide the IP address of the device through the configuration tab in the applet.
