What to do if...
Personal
Communicator
does not turn on
•
Check the battery.
Is it charged, properly fitted and are the contacts clean
and dry?
You can’t make
calls
•
Check the signal strength meter.
If the signal is weak, move to an open
space or, if in a building, move close to a window.
•
Check your network settings.
Try to select another network.
•
Check your coverage map
.
Are restrictions set?
•
Check your Call Barring and Fixed Dialing settings
.
•
Have you reached your call charge limit?
Reset your limit or contact your
service provider.
•
Have you inserted a new SIM card?
Make sure no new restrictions have
been imposed.
You can’t
receive calls
•
Check the signal strength meter.
If the signal is weak, move to an open
space or, if in a building, move closer to a window.
•
Check Call Diversion and Call Barring settings.
Check Ringer and
VibraCall™ settings. If both are off, there is no audible alert.

Communicator
won’t unlock
•
Have you inserted a new SIM card?
Enter the new PIN code.
•
Do you have a replacement communicator?
Enter the default unlock code
of 1234.
•
Did you forget your unlock code?
Press % to change it (you will need
your security code).
Your PIN is
blocked
• Enter the PIN unblocking code supplied with your SIM card.
