D.2.4.6 Locating Clients
Once the site has been defined, the RTLS engine can be enabled and devices tracked. The following steps
demonstrate how to enable the integrated RTLS engine and track Wi-Fi clients at the site:
1. In the RTLS configuration context, enter the Location Engine Parameters configuration context by issuing
a sole command.
RFS7000(config-rtls)# sole
RFS7000(config-rtls-sole)#
2. Enable client locationing by issuing a locate mobile-unit command.
Syntax: [no] locate mobile-unit enable
RFS7000(config-rtls-sole)# locate mobile-unit enable
3. The default location interval (30 seconds) can be changed by issuing allocate mobile-unit command.
Syntax: locate mobile-unit interval <5-3600>
4. Verify client locationing is enabled by issuing a show rtls sole command.
RFS7000(config-rtls-sole)# show rtls sole
# Type On-board Interval
1 mobile-unit enabled 30
# mobile-unit MAC
1 00-40-96-AD-4C-F6
NOTE: Zone information can only be entered and viewed using the CLI. Web UI support
will be available in a future release.
