Managing Hotspot Files
When creating a new hotspot, the switch builds a directory in flash named hotspot with a subdirectory
named wlanX (where X is the WLAN ID). The switch also creates a default login, welcome and failed html
files in the directory. These files can be copied to a FTP or TFTP server and customized.
Use the CLI or the Web UI to upload files from the switch to a FTP/TFTP server. If you want to use the Web
UI, use Switch > File Management. Upload customized content ether using the CLI’s
copy command or
TFTP/FTP in the hotspot configuration (you can also use Switch > File Management).
The example below displays samples (both from a file manager and the switch CLI) of the directory and files
used by an advanced hotspot. These examples use pages supporting various graphics files. These pages also
use a HTML style sheet to define certain elements. Create custom pages using standard HTML elements and
formatting as long as they include the content required by the switch to pass credential information.
