GROUP/PRIVATE SPEAKER

You can hear calls through either the earpiece or the speaker in

Private mode. Pressing the Speaker button on top of the

portable turns the Group/Private Speaker on or off.

If you set the Speaker button on, you will hear incoming calls

through the speaker. If you set the Speaker button off, you will hear

a short alert tone when you receive a private call. You will hear

incoming calls through the earpiece.

MAKING A PRIVATE CALL

With the cover open, you can use one of three methods: Direct

Entry, Scroll, or Name.

Direct Entry Method

1. Press until you see

“Prvt Ready” on your display.

2. Use the keypad to enter the

Private ID of the person that you

want to reach.

3. To speak, press and hold the

PTT button, wait for the chirp,

then speak into the microphone.

4. To listen, release the PTT

button.

Scroll Method

1. Press until you see “Prvt Ready” on your display.

2. Press to select the person for the private call that

you previously entered into your Private ID list.

IF THE COVER IS CLOSED...

• To contact the last Private ID that you called,

ﬁrst select the “Prvt Ready” mode, then press

the PTT button.

• To select another number (previously entered

in your Private ID list), press under

“List”. This allows you to use the Volume

Control buttons to scroll to the desired name,

then press the PTT button.
