CHAPTER 5. PREFERENCES SETTING
5.1. PREFERENCES MENU
This chapter provides guidelines for RSS customization. The Preferences menu, displayed in
Figure 5-1, includes commands to select the user level and the preferred communication ports.

5.2. USER
The User command customizes the user to work in programmer or in technician mode. The
programmer mode provides basic utilities, while technician mode enhances the program abilities and
handles special utilities, such as radio calibration.
To select the programmer mode, choose User from the Preferences menu. The dialog box displayed in
Figure 5-2 appears. The User dialog is then opened, providing the capability to select the user level.
• When Programmer level is selected, the technician commands on the Service menu are disabled.
After closing the dialog box, the updated user level appears on the Status line.
• When Technician level is selected, after entering a valid password, the technician commands on the
Service menu are enabled. After closing the dialog box, the updated user level appears on the Status
line.
