39Using your Answering Machine
9.6.4 Record, play or delete your own outgoing message
Record also invites your callers to leave a message. Answer only lets callers hear your
announcement but they cannot leave a message.
1. Press
M, scroll u or d to Answ Machine and press M.
2. Scroll
u to Answer Mode and press M.
3. Scroll
u or d to select Record also or Answer only and press M. Use the u or d key
to select
Personalized then press M.

Play is displayed.
• Press M to play the current message.
• Scroll d to select Record - press M. Display shows Recording and a beep is
emitted. Speak your message. Press
M to end recording.
• Scroll d to select Delete - press M. The pre-recorded message will be
automatically reinstated.
5. Press
e to return to standby.
9.7 Answer machine settings
9.7.1 Ring delay
Select the duration of rings before your answer machine picks up the call. Choose from 2-9
Rings or Toll Saver.
NOTE
If Toll Saver is selected, then:
• If you have new messages your phone answers after 2 Rings.
• If there are no new messages it will answer after 6 Rings. So you have the option to
hang up, saving the time and cost of a call.
• If the memory is full, it will automatically revert to Answer Only mode.

u or d to select 2-9 Rings or Toll Saver .
