Unanswered calls Cool down If you receive a phone call and press End/Power before it goes to voicemail, you can send an automatic text message to the other caller. In very limited circumstances, such as where your phone has been exposed to extreme heat, “Cool Down” message screens will appear. To avoid possible damage to your battery and phone, you should follow these instructions until the phone is within its recommended temperature range.
Push-to-Talk PTT resume one or more, talk to them all You can extend the automatic timeout of a PTT call by about 30 seconds. Private calls Find it: Private calls are push-to-talk calls between two people. Make and answer private calls To make a private call: • Touch Dialer, and enter the recipient’s PTT number. Tip: The first contact in Contacts contains your PTT number.
Tip: To add a quick switch for One Touch PTT, touch and hold a blank spot on your home screen, then touch Motorola Widgets > One Touch PTT. Call alerts Use call alerts to tell someone you want to speak to them. To send a call alert: Dialer, enter a PTT ID, and press • Touch Menu > Send Alert. When prompted, press the PTT Button. Contacts, and select a contact • Touch containing a PTT ID. Touch Send Alert, and press the PTT Button when prompted.
Group calls Join a Talkgroup Note: This feature may not be offered by your service provider. Before you can make a Talkgroup call, you’ll need to join the Talkgroup. Need to talk to more than one person at a time? With group calls you can talk to up to 20 people at a time. 1 Touch Note: To store groups on your phone you need a group-call-capable SIM card. You can view the pictures, videos, and MMS or SMS messages stored on your phone with a PC through the Personal Portal.
Connect with Wi-Fi Personal Portal > Menu Settings > Manual Start on Wi-Fi. 1 Touch > > 2 To have your phone generate a passcode, touch Use passcode in Wi-Fi connection. To use your own passcode, touch Use static passcode and enter a passcode in the text field. To use voice readouts: • Menus and screens: In menus and screens, touch an item to highlight it (the item will be read out loud), and double-touch to open or action it. Note: Touching a home screen widget or shortcut will open it. • Dialer & text entry: As you type, each number or letter is read out loud. • Notification: When you flick the notifications bar down, all notifications are read out loud. Tip: Navigate through your apps and menus to hear how voice readouts work on your phone.
Touchscreen & keys All these touch features are great, and sometimes it’s nice to hear or feel your touches too. Touch > Settings > Sound & display: • Touchscreen: To hear screen touches (click), touch Audible selection. • Touchscreen Keys: To feel key touches (vibrate), touch Haptic feedback. select Telecoil to optimize your phone for telecoil coupling. • Call volume: During a call, press the side volume keys to set a call volume that works for you.
Note: You’ll need a cable/adapter to connect your TTY device to the headset jack on your phone. Refer to your TTY device guide for mode and usage information.
