Updating and distribution of various forms and lists
Telephone Lists
The radio operator should never forget being an operator includes providing services
to other staff members/visitors. It is important the radio operator creates an updated
telephone list, containing useful addresses/telephone/fax numbers, such as:
• All offices in the region.
• Own staff members.
• Hotels and restaurants.
• Travel agencies.
• Airports.
• Customs/Clearing agents.
• UN agencies.
• NON-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).
• Companies providing services on radios, computers and vehicles.
• Embassies and Consulates.
• Hospitals and Police.
It is the radio operators’ responsibility to distribute various forms and lists. The
following is an example:
To all handset holders
• General procedures for VHF communications (VHF Pocketbook – Annex A).
• Standard words and phrases (Annex A).
• Callsign List.
To all vehicles with VHF mobile systems installed
• General procedures for VHF communications (VHF Pocketbook – Annex A).
• Standard words and phrases (Annex A).
• Callsign List.
To all vehicles with HF mobile systems installed
• Selcall addresses in the region.
• Channel plan/frequency list for the country.
• Callsign/Selcall List for the country.
