Portable HF Radios
The UN and NGO organizations use a variety of portable
radios. Below are just a few available on the market.
These radios are used in air-drop operations, barges and
many other areas of operation by humanitarian
organisations
Codan
The 2110 series transceivers provide seamless operation with
Codan’s NGT base and vehicle transceivers. They are fully
interoperable with NGT 4 & 6 digit calling facilities including
phone call, message call, GPS call and over the air remote
configuration and remote disable capabilities. The Codan 2110
Manpack series of radios is used worldwide has up to 600
channels (depending on model). Weighs 4.7kg with 8ah
battery, 25W output (high) and 5W (low) selectable. 50ms for memory recall, last
tune stored for 100 frequencies.
Q-Mac
The Q-MAC HF-90 Man pack is used worldwide in a variety of applications
including; international aid projects, military/paramilitary applications, search and
rescue, mineral exploration, forestry management,
conservation and wildlife projects.
The Q-Mac is lightweight (7Kgs Complete), 50
Watts, 255 Channels, 2-30 Mhz, 10-28V DC
Operation, however is restricted to 4 digit selcall
transmissions.
