UPGRADING PHONE

This function enables you to update the phone software version and codeplug data.

1 Select Tools/Upgrade Phone. A Write Software and Codeplug confirmation

message will be displayed on the screen.

2 In the Confirmation Message dialogue box, click the Write button. After

approximately 15-30 seconds, the progress bar should begin to move toward 100%.

Never disconnect the

programming cable from the

phone during the programming

process or power off the PC

while the codeplug file is in

memory. This will corrupt radio

data.

Notes: Set up the programming hardware as

described in “Section 2: Setting Up the

Hardware” section on page 11. From the

Tools menu, choose Options. In the Options

dialogue box, make sure that the default

software path is set to the directory that

contains the subscriber software files. If the

progress bar does not appear or an error

occurs, go through the checklist in the

“Unable to Write Software” topic in the on-

line help. If an error occurs during the update

phase, go through the checklist in the

“Unable to Read Phone” topic on the on-line

help.
