28 Using your Answer machine
Remote access
Remote access allows you to operate your answer machine and listen to 
your messages by calling your D1011 from another phone.
The default setting is on.
1.
Call your D1011. When you hear your outgoing message, press #.
2.
Enter your 4 digit PIN. The default code is 
0000
. 
-  You hear a confirmation beep.
NOTE
Change this code for increased security, see “PIN” on page 24.
3.
After entering your PIN as stated above, use the keypad to operate 
your D1011 answer machine:
Remote Access on/off
1.
Press m, scroll d to 
ANSW MACHINE
 and press m.
2.
Scroll d to 
ANSW SETTINGS
 and press m.
3.
Scroll d to 
REMOTE ACC
 and press m.
4.
Scroll u or d to select 
ACTIVATED
 or 
DEACTIVATED
.
5.
Press m to confirm.
Call screening
Use your handset or base speaker to hear a caller leaving a message. 
You can then choose to ignore the caller or pick up the call.
The default settings are:
•   Handset call screening: Off
•   Base call screening: On.
At the handset:
1.
If you want to interrupt and take the call press < or v 
At the base:
1.
When a caller is leaving a message, press + or - to adjust the 
volume to listen to your caller.
2.
To interrupt and take the call on the handset, press < or v.
Switch handset call screening on/off
1.
Press m, scroll u or d to

Answer Machine language
You can change the language of the pre-recorded outgoing messages.

TAM LANGUAGE
 and press m.
4.
Scroll u or d to select the language.

Access answer machine menu via the Calls list
When the   is flashing to indicate new messages you can see caller 
details via 
u or press d again to go to 
ANSW MACHINE
 to play new 
messages.
