Macintosh SE
(Jumper Type)
The Macintosh SE has no
soldered memory. You can
expand the memory to a total
of 4 MB by installing DRAM
SIMMs. Remember the
highest density SIMMs must
be installed in Slot 1 and 2
first.
Note:
There are two
different logic board
configurations for the SE, one
with a jumper and the other
with a resistor to identify the
memory level installed.

Note:
The jumper must be removed for a
2.5 MB configuration. Place the jumper on
one pin so it can be reinstalled if necessary.
DRAM Configurations
1 MB Install four 256K SIMMs.
Install jumper in position
“1M”.
2 MB Install two 1 MB SIMMs
(Slots 3 & 4).
Install jumper in position
“2/4M”.
2.5 MB Install two 256K SIMMs
(Slots 1 & 2).
Install two 1 MB SIMMs
(Slots 3 & 4).
Remove jumper.
4 MB Install four 1 MB SIMMs.
Remove jumper.
