Set-up Facebook App and Widget
DROID by Motorola comes with a Facebook App pre -loaded on the phone,
enabling you to place a Facebook live widget to your home screen. The
widget streams your Facebook contacts updates and allows you to quickly
update your status and post with 1 click. The app also enables you to import
your Facebook contacts and their details, including their profile picture.
1: Touch and hold a blank area of the home screen
(ensuring that it has at least two consecutive rows of blank
space for the widget).
2: Once the menu pops up, touch Widgets > Facebook.
3: Read the end-user license agreement, and if you are in
agreement, touch I agree.
4: Enter your Facebook Email and Password into the text
fields provided, and then touch Login.
NOTE: If you don’t want to have to log into the app every time you
open it, simply tap Remember me.
5: Select whether you would like to Sync all friends, Sync
only existing contacts, or Don’t sync, then touch Next.
6: Read the Helpful tips section, then touch Finish. Your
device will now sync with your Facebook contacts.
Set Searchable Items
You can select the items you want to search on the phone when performing
an on- and off-device search (i.e. when typing a search term into the Google
search window on your home screen).
1: From the home screen touch the Menu key >
Settings > Search > Searchable items.
2: Touch the checkboxes for the items you would like to
search.
3: Touch the Home key to return to your home screen.
Set Screen Timeout
To preserve battery life, it’s best to set the device’s screen to stay on for the
shortest period of time while it is idle. Letting your device “sleep” while you
are not using it helps your device’s battery last longer between charges.
1: From the home Screen, touch the Menu Key > Settings.
2: Touch Sound & display > Screen timeout.
3: Touch the time interval that you would like to use. Your
device’s display will time out and go into sleep mode if you
have not interacted with it for this period of time.
4: Touch the Home key to go back to the home screen.
NOTE: To awaken your device from sleep, either slide open the
QWERTY keyboard, or press the Power/Unlock button on the top of
the device.
