Conventional Radio Features
Send a Direct-Entry Keyboard (DEK) Status
(Digital Modes Only)
Press the desired Sts # but-
ton on the DEK.
The red indicator flashes
while the radio is waiting for
an acknowledgment. The
control head momentarily
displays the selected status,
then shows
PLS WAIT (W7)
or
PLEASE WAIT (W9).
One of the following condi-
tions occur:
• When the dispatcher-
acknowledge is received,
four high-pitched tones
sound, and the status
indicator lights solid and
remains on to show the
last status acknowledged
by the dispatch terminal.
The display also
temporarily shows ACK
RCVD.
The radio then returns to
normal dispatch operation.
