General Radio Features
Initiate an Emergency Alarm
The emergency alarm feature sends a data transmission to alert the
dispatcher of your emergency condition and identify your unit ID.
Press the emergency button.
A tone sounds and the dis-
play alternates
EMERGNCY
(W4, W5, W7) or
EMERGENCY
(W9) with the current zone/
channel.
For trunking modes, a high-
pitched tone indicates that
the alarm has been received
by the trunked system’s cen-
tral controller.
A dispatcher acknowledg-
ment (four high-pitched
tones) and an
ACK RCVD dis-
play follow.
The radio automatically
returns to normal operation.
No further action is required.
