6. Click the Properties button.
7. In the General tab, select Use the following IP address.
NOTE: An example is shown in Figure 134.

8. For IP address, type in 169.254.1.63.
9. For Subnet mask, type in 255.255.0.0.
10. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, click the OK button.
11. Click the Close button to dismiss the Local Area Connections window.
12. Close the Network Connections window.
RESULT: The laptop is now configured to reach the interfaces of SMs whose
IP addresses are default from the factory. However, the current setting inhibits normal
access to the Internet.
